Defeat of the Cube!

One of my Life Goals is to complete an entire rubik’s cube by myself. I’ve spent most of today just learning how to do this. Twice I completed the cube using a You Tube video to learn the algorithms needed to accomplish the feat. Then I decided that I knew I could at least get the bottom two layers. This was quickly and somewhat easily finished. I decided to keep going without checking the video and before I knew it the rubik’s cube was finished.

Before it seemed like the cube was an evil instrument of torture, it demanded solving which was nearly impossible to do. Now the evil foe has been vanquished and is little more than an entertaining, harmless piece of plastic. It just goes to show that many, but not all, things can be completed with lots of patience and the will to carry something to its end. I’ve never been a natural at any sort of puzzle activity, but I usually devote myself to finishing it as much as I can. Although I may have to put more work into it than other people, I think that my satisfaction at the end is well worth the pains to get there.

Congratulations on completing a life goal!

While I wouldn’t mind being able to complete a Rubik’s cube, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have the patience to do so. My mom can do them–she read some instructions somewhere too.

I’m glad I stumbled upon your blog (from a link to mine, no less!)
